2006 August. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

In August 2006 I went to Mexico with these five girls:

Me, Emily, Ashley, Meghan, Thalia, and Estelle.

This was our graduation trip.  We went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  I just randomly ended up going, and so glad I did!  We partied so hard.  On the first morning Emily couldn't even get out of bed.  And then the next day I was the same way.  When I look back, it was stupid - we missed out on like a whole day of stuff while we were hungover, but that's ok.  I had a blast at the time.

Banana Boat!

This was our favorite bar.  We daaaanced on that window seal all week.

Wet T-Shirt Contest.  We lost haha.  Some skanky-poo won.  Probably the one looking at her stomach because its grumbling because she needs a sand which.  Who knows tho ;-).

I think this was the first day--we went straight to the pool bar! =)

And literally so pooped that I think all of us but the one who was taking the pictures, has a picture like this, asleep on the airport floor.  Nasty now that I think about it.  But then, all that mattered was sleep.

2006 November. Durango. Cabin.

In November 2006 we went to Emily's family friends cabin in Durango.  I don't think they were aware we were bringing friends: haha

We went to the hotsprings.  Ohh, those are so nice and warm.

Partied, and of course got a dance from Thalia.

And just enjoyed doing nothing, but getting into all their stuff that they kept at the cabin, ex: this hat.
Utah and Me.

Me, Emily, Thalia.

Again, most of the pictures got messed up, which is really a bummer.  This trip we pretty much just hung out.  Meghan was going to school up there, I think that is the reason we went.  To visit, and to party.  And that we did.  We went to town for a day and had breakfast and such.  I remember there was an upstairs, that was literally only beds, about 14 of them, and a verrry low ceiling.  We were all hammered, and the guys were constantly hitting their heads.  I remember in the middle of the night I heard a voice coming from the bed next to mine... "Kayla....Kayla".  It was Chase.  "Kayla...where should I put my gum??"  I'm not sure what I even told him, but that was a night to remember for sure.  After much rough housing and jumping on the beds like a bunch of kids at wee hours of the morning, we finally went to bed, all 14 of us.  =)

2006 December. Cruses, NM.

Me and Thalia drove down to Cruses for the weekend to visit our friend Kelsey.  She was going to school down there and staying at the dorms.  We had a blast.

We drove down to El Paso, TX and parked the car.  Walked across the bridge to Juarez and danced our asses off.  This was the only picture I felt like I should put in here haha.

And this one too I suppose.

We partied around the campus and came across an ice luge.  Mmmm.

Already I'm totally regretting my outfit.  And hair.  And earrings.  What was I thinking!?

This trip was a blast.  Kelsey's roomate had moved out, so she had both the beds pushed together in her dorm and we just had a big sleepover.  She however, shared a bathroom with another room, that still had two girls in it, who didn't think it was very funny when we came home loud and proud and giggly.  We however, thought it was hilarious.  Haha!  We partied hard all weekend.  It's a bummer that Juarez isn't safe to go to anymore!

2006 November. California.

November 2006, I had moved to Albuquerque, and was really good friends with Thalia.  Her Grandparents were having an anniversary I think, and we went to California to celebrate.  We spent a few days there, and went to the little market thing to walk around with her cousins.

I think this was at one of the malls.  We saw Tessa, a reality show girl, and were so excited!  Now, I'm surprised I remember her name lol.

We took the train to and from.  My first train =).  On the way there we boarded in the evening and traveled through the night.  It was soo cold, I didn't sleep at all!!  Lesson learned--always bring a blanket!

Hollywood.

And saw the ocean of course.

I remember we celebrated Thanksgiving with her family.  Her Grandparents barely spoke english, so as I was passing her Grandpa a roll, I said "qieres?" , for "Do you want some?"  The family cracked up, either at 1. That I could hang or 2.  That I was trying to hang.  (Probably the later).  We danced and danced at the anniversary party.  Again, I was the white girl trying to hang.  Oh well.  It was a good time and a good memory.  Sadly, most of the pictures have gotten messed up from switching from computer to computer.

Childhood Summers.

I suppose I better start with the oldest pictures I have.  I got these off of mom's facebook, so I don't have many.  I'll have to go through more old pictures someday and find more.

We used to go to the lake/camping/fishing often.  I remember dad would help us put the hook and bait, and we would wait and wait.  Mom would lay on the fold out chair, tanning, usually with a book.  One time we had steak for dinner.  Mom was pregnant with Kourt and woke up in the middle of the night to do, what ever it was she was going to do (probably go potty), and found Kels chewing her bite of steak in her sleep, still! =o! =D

Here is Kels, eating I guess.

Kels in her cool shades.

Me and Kels shuckin corn out of the back of the bronco.

Playing in the River.  Not sure if it was the same trip, think it was, but a trip I remember we forgot our swimsuits, and went swimming in our panties.  Dad swung us around in the water, and our panties would almost fall off, but no one cared cause we were kids, and we were camping =).  Can't wait to "not care cause we're camping" with Kayden.

Kelsi.

Kelsi.

Kelsi.

 Shuckin corn. =)

We used to go to Aunt Chris and Uncle Ralph's cabin too.  We enjoyed riding the atv's, shooting bb guns at cans or trees, swinging on the tree swing, and all that jazz.  I remember one time it was pouring so hard, and the middle of the night, and we had to go pee so bad.  The outhouse wasn't necessarily close, so Chris, Kelsi and I put trashbags on as raincoats and ran our cold little butts out.  I'll have to find that picture.  Always a good time. =)

The meaning of One more step around.

I love to travel.  I really do.  I want to see the world.

One more step around means, to me, that I have taken one more step around the world.  I hope someday that I can see the whole world.  I think that may be a big goal, but I would like to see as much as I can.

I enjoy going anywhere.  From the beach, to the cold.  From across town, to across the country.  Once I started thinking about making this blog/book, to have all my travels in one place, I realized that I have been pretty lucky to be able to travel a good number of places.  Don't get me wrong, I am surely not satisfied, and surely not done.  But I do have to remember, that I am lucky that I can go places at all.  The trips may slow down these days, that Kayden has just been born, but at least I will be busy updating this.  Hopefully we can go on another trip before I get all finished ;-).

This is a mixture of old trips, big trips, little trips, new trips, and maybe even plans for future trips.
